How to apply the lettering

Here are some basic instructions on how to apply your vinyl lettering. We will supply comprehensive instructions with your vinyl order. If you need any help or advice please contact us and we will be happy to help.

  1. Clean and de grease the area thoroughly.
  2. Using a measuring tape mark out where you would like the lettering to be placed.
  3. There is application tape on the top of the lettering and a backing sheet. Lift the lettering from the backing sheet with the application tape remaining - be careful that each letter comes away cleanly, use a scalpel/blade if necessary to help ease the letter away from the backing.
  4. To aid placing the lettering correctly you can spray the area with a little water mist from a spray bottle (or use a mist with a very small amount of washing up liquid mixed in). This will allow you move the lettering slightly if it is not in quite the right place before you stick it down completely.
  5. Using a plastic applicator squeeze out the water from underneath the lettering methodically from the centre out making sure that any bubbles are eliminated.
  6. Spray more water over the placed lettering to soak it. You can then carefully remove the applicator tape off the lettering methodically by peeling it back flat from one side until it is off completely.
  7. If there are any bubbles that you have missed you can prick them and squeeze the water out. Dry any excess water off carefully.
